Terms of Service

Last updated: May 19, 2026

Welcome to Kindred. By using our service, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

1. The service

Kindred is a gift coordination platform that lets parents create shareable profiles for their kids, where family and friends can view wishlists, contribute to group goals, and gift money toward investments or savings accounts.

2. Account types

Parent accounts can create and manage kid profiles, add wishlist items, set up experiences and contribution links, and view gifts received.

Gifter accounts can follow kids' circles, view profiles shared with them, and log gifts.

You may switch between account types in your profile settings.

3. Your account

You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your password secure
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Providing accurate information when signing up
  • Notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

4. Kid profiles

Parents who create kid profiles are responsible for:

  • Having the legal right to create a profile for the child
  • The content posted (photos, names, bios, wishlist items)
  • Sharing the profile link responsibly

You agree not to post content that is illegal, harmful, harassing, or that violates the rights of others. We reserve the right to remove profiles that violate these Terms.

5. Payments and gifts — important

Kindred does not process payments. When a gifter contributes to a group goal, sends money to a 529 or other investment account, or sends a Venmo/PayPal/Cash App payment, that transaction happens on a third-party payment service. Kindred only logs the gifter's stated intent to contribute.

This means:

  • Kindred does not guarantee that any pledged contribution will actually be sent
  • Kindred is not responsible for failed, fraudulent, or disputed payments processed by third parties
  • Refunds, payment issues, and disputes must be resolved directly with the payment provider (Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, etc.)
  • The "amount raised" shown on group goals reflects pledged amounts, not confirmed payments

Parents can mark gifts as "received" in their dashboard to track which contributions actually arrived.

6. Shipping information

Parents who provide a shipping address acknowledge that this address is shared with gifters who indicate they want to send a physical gift. Kindred is not responsible for items lost, damaged, or sent to incorrect addresses by gifters or shipping carriers.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Kindred for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
  • Scrape, copy, or harvest data from the service
  • Upload malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Impersonate other people or kids
  • Use the service to harass, defraud, or harm others
  • Resell or commercialize the service without permission

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

8. Intellectual property

Kindred and its logo are owned by us. You may not use them without written permission. The content you post (kid profiles, photos, wishlist items) remains yours — you grant us a limited license to display it as part of the service.

9. Disclaimers

Kindred is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

  • That the service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • That gifts will be sent, received, or fulfilled as expected
  • That third-party payment services will function correctly
  • That data will never be lost (though we take reasonable precautions)

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kindred and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (which, since Kindred is currently free, is $0).

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time by emailing support@kindredregistry.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify users via email or a banner on the site. Continued use of Kindred after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration where permitted by law, except where prohibited.
