About Kindred

Why I built this.

Every year, the same group text. "What does she want for her birthday?" "What size is he in now?" "Did anyone already get the Lego set?"

I have a kid. My family is spread across three states. I love them, they love him, and yet every birthday and Christmas turned into a logistical mess — duplicate gifts, awkward questions, and grandparents who wanted to contribute to his college fund but didn't know how.

So I built Kindred. One link per kid. Wishlist items, contributions to a 529 or savings account, and group-funded experiences — all in one place. No more group texts. No more guessing. Just thoughtful gifts that actually matter.

What makes Kindred different

  • One link, every gift type.

Physical items, money toward investments, or pooled funds for experiences like a zoo membership. Whatever feels right to the gifter.

  • Built for the long haul.

Not a one-time baby registry. The same Kindred link works for birthday, Christmas, graduation — every occasion, every year.

  • No accounts required to give.

Grandma doesn't need to download an app or remember a password. She clicks the link, picks a gift, sends it. Done.

  • Privacy first.

Kid profiles are private to the people you share the link with. Addresses stay hidden until a gifter is actually sending a physical gift.

Who's behind it

Kindred is built by a husband and dad who got tired of the gift-coordination chaos and decided to build the tool he wished existed.

This is a small, independent project. No VC, no algorithm, no ads. Just a useful thing for families who like giving thoughtful gifts without the back-and-forth.
